EFE serves approximately 300 individuals per year through four cycles of 36 hours of instruction (9 weeks of 4 class-time hours per week) in ESOL (three levels of ESOL instruction: Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced), and U.S. Citizenship & Civic Participation. EFE is served by an Education Coordinator and a dedicated and experienced cadre of trained, volunteer teachers
Our Adult Education Program, “Education for Empowerment” (EFE), helps recently arrived immigrants acquire the necessary skills to secure better jobs, to speak with their children’s teachers, to become engaged in the civic life of their communities, to pass their citizenship exams, and to improve not only the quality of their lives but the quality of their communities where they live as well.
