First Parish in Concord will screen the documentary “The Invisible Crisis: The Female Face Of Forced Migration” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 2 at 20 Lexington Road, Concord.

Centro Presente produced the short documentary to bring the stories of Central America women to light. One group of women are women migrants fleeing violence and social instability in their home countries. Survivors of systemic human rights abuses they come to the U.S. seeking to save the lives of their children. Yet upon arrival to this “nation of immigrants” they see their human rights abused by a system that fails to recognize their plight and their humanity.

The documentary will be followed by a conversation with a speaker from Central America about the realities confronted by undocumented immigrants.
